About Watercolor Dry Edge With Texture
This is this sister brush to my “watercolor dry edge” brush, a custom Procreate brush that gives the Dry Edge Effect of watercolor lettering! The beauty of lettering by hand with a brush and some watercolor is all of the organic effects that it creates, the dried edge being my favorite part. I wanted to create a brush that would give that same look, but in procreate. This brush gives you the watercolor dried edge, runs out of paint so you have to “redip”, is full of unpredictable texture and opacity, and is perfect for script lettering! It creates thin upstrokes and thick downstrokes, and you can adjust the size of the brush to make it look like you’re using a fat watercolor brush, or a thin size 0 paint brush. It’s streamlined so your lettering is never shaky, which can be one of the worst parts of painting your letters with traditional watercolors. It’s a wet mix brush so you can layer colors and actually mix them right on the canvas like real watercolors on paper!
What sets this brush apart from the original dry edge brush is that it is jam packed with even more texture! The edges are rougher and more unpredictable, the inside of the stroke is filled with more organic shapes and textures which are scan ins of actual watercolor paintings!
