About Cinematic FX for After Effects
Simulate the look of cinematic effects used in movies and TV series. This set of 24 After Effects presets contains 19 cinematic looks and 5 tonal adjustments. Many of these effects were created by sampling and comparing before/after photos of movies such as “300”, “Skyfall”, “Life of Pi”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Matrix”, and more!

Lightning Fast:

By minimizing the layers and sticking to simple effects, these actions run FAST. Many presets use just one RGB curves effect.

Professional Results:

Because these actions use RGB curves to change the color and contrast, they give you the maximum image quality, dynamic range, and consistent results with any video. All effects are fully editable.

2 Filters: Warm and Cool

The standard color filters used frequently in movies and TV series such as “Skyfall” (2012 film) and “Game of Thrones” (2011 TV series). Our color effect is based on the movie “Skyfall”.

6 Common Film FX: Action, Horror, Desert, Surreal, Spartan, & Atlantic Storm

These are traditional effect used in movies. Some of the effects such as “Spartan”, “Surreal”, and “Atlantic Storm” were sampled from movies such as “300” (2006 film), “Alice in Wonderland” (2010 film), and “Life of Pi” (2011 film).

4 Two-Strip Effects: Two-Strip, Process 2, Vintage Romance, & Hacker

This old film process by Technicolor exposes two frames of a B+W film behind a green and red filter. The “Two-Strip” look was used in the movie “The Aviator” (2004 film) in some of their scenes to give it a vintage look. “Process 2” has a warm tint to resemble the look of old films such as “The Phantom of the Opera” (1925 film). “Vintage Romance” is based on the 2001 French film, “Amélie” and “Hacker” is the same color effect used in the 1991 movie “Matrix”.

6 Film Effects: Polaroid, Lomo, Subtle Film, Old Film, Old Film 2, & Warm Film

The “Old Film” effect is based on the 1965 movie, “The Sound of Music” and the “Warm Film” effect is based on the 1951 film, “Alice in Wonderland”.

5 Tonal Adjustments: Flat, Low Contrast, High Contrast, Midtone Contrast, DRI, Auto DRI

These actions make it easy for you to adjust the contrast and dynamic range of your videos. The “Midtone Contrast” action targets the contrast in the midtones. “DRI” increases the details in your photo similar to the shadow/highlights adjustment but without any halo effects and using the Curves adjustment so that it renders faster.
